God Blessed Owen on St Valentine's Day

On February 14 Owen was baptized. It was a wonderful day the church was filled with family
and friends who wanted to join us in Owen's special day. Owen was baptized at Ascension Lutheran Church in North Olmsted. Pastor Stuenkel performed a beautiful ceremony and included Owen in the entire service. His Godparents are Danny Martin and Kim Martin and we love them very much! Here are some photos of Owen's day :)

Owen's Second Month

Owen is already two months!!! time goes by way too fast. He starting to be so much more vocal now, he discovered his hands and starting to reach for things too. He also smiles a ton!!! :)
Here are some pictures that I took of Owen when he turned two months -- we love our little monkey boy :)

Here comes Santa Claus, Here comes Santa Claus!

Owen's first Christmas came when he was only 15 days old and our Christmas came
when Owen was born! He has definitely been the best Christmas present that God
has ever given us. I think is safe to say that our 2009 Christmas will be a hard one to
top :) Owen has been blessed to have a big, wonderful and loving family that was
waiting for his arrival and Christmas time has a celebration of that. Merry Christmas 2009
to our beautiful little boy!!!

Owens First Month

Owen's first month has been as exciting for him as it has been for us. The start
of his life has already brought us so much joy! From Owen's first professional pictures,
his first bath, first Christmas and one of the most exciting things that I have ever
experienced in my entire life....his first smile!!!
After his first smile (which it was not gas..it was definitely a smile! ) I found myself
whatever I could to make him smile...from making up silly songs (poopies in the pants!!!
which he loves and finds very amusing apparently :) , weird faces or any
sounds I could make that he would find worthy of a smile. That little smile just makes
me think of all the firsts that we have to look forward to and although we are very
excited about all those firsts I also dont want him to grow up so fast!!

Welcome Home!!

After Nick and I found out that we were expecting we also decided that it was probably
a good time to move out of our apartment and to a new place more baby friendly.
After searching for months we found the house that we wanted to make into our home.
We finally moved in on October 26, 2009 and with very little time left and with a panic, pregnant and nesting wife :) Nick tried to do as much as possible to make our house ready for our
no-name yet baby.
When Owen came to this world he also arrived to a new home, our first home.
He came home to his new house, new nursery and not so quiet puppies. It seems
like while in my belly he got very used to the sounds of Smokey and Manny's bark
since when he came home from the hospital he was greeted by two very excited
and not so quiet puppies. Owen was sleeping in his car seat and he didnt make a sound
he kept sleeping and looked like a little angel while Manny and Smokey continued to bark.
While we still have many projects which we want to do to our new home it was defnitely
baby ready :)

Welcome Baby Martin!!!

For a while now I've been thinking about doing a journal for Owen
everyday he does all these little things that I want to write about
and what better way of doing it than a blog -- a modern journal I guess
and this way is an encouragement to take even more pictures of him!!
which I think Im kind of obsessed with anyways :)
Our little peanut was completely changed our lives --for the better of course!!
From the moment we found out we were expecting, thru all the morning sickness,
the little kicks in my belly to the delivery date December 08, 2009 brought the most
wonderful and life changing thing in our entire world....God blessed
us with Owen James Martin all 8 lbs 2.6 ounces and 20 inches of him. From the moment
we found out the we were expecting I instantly fell in love but nothing could have prepared me to the love I felt when I saw him for the first time. This little man made my heart burst with
love and from the look in Nick's face...the happiest moment in our entire lives.
